OVERVIEW.

At the heart of the Viento Linear House is the idea that simplicity can enrich everyday life. The linear form was chosen not just for aesthetic purity but to create a clear flow of movement and natural light throughout the entire home. By minimizing unnecessary partitions, we encouraged seamless connections between rooms and the outdoors, enhancing both physical and visual spaciousness. Every material and detail was selected to feel honest and enduring, so the house remains timeless and flexible as the family’s needs evolve.

The design is organized around a clear spatial sequence: a layered arrangement of courtyards and volumes that guide movement from public to private zones. Full-height glazing and sliding openings face inward to sheltered outdoor pockets, bringing daylight deep into the plan while maintaining discretion from the street. This inward-looking strategy creates natural ventilation paths and a gentle rhythm of light and shadow across the day.
A restrained material palette anchors the atmosphere stone and concrete for solidity, timber for warmth, and glass for transparency. Subtle shifts in texture, integrated storage, and carefully detailed built-ins keep the spaces refined without feeling cold. From the placement of openings to the softness of interior finishes, each decision supports comfort, clarity, and a sense of everyday ease.

Design Philosophy.

Designing the Viento Linear House came with unique site and lifestyle considerations. Balancing privacy with the desire for openness was the foremost challenge we had to carefully orient windows and transitions to shield views from neighbors while maintaining abundant daylight. The narrow site dimensions also demanded precise spatial planning to prevent any sense of confinement along the long axis. Lastly, ensuring consistent indoor comfort in varying seasonal climates required thoughtful placement of openings and choice of insulation materials, all while staying true to the minimalist aesthetic.

Challenges.

Designing in an urban context brought specific challenges. Privacy needed to be carefully protected while still welcoming generous daylight, so window placement and screening elements were precisely considered. Limited site width demanded efficient planning to avoid tight, corridor-like spaces. Lastly, maintaining indoor comfort amid heat, noise, and fluctuating city conditions required careful acoustic control, shading strategies, and ventilation planning while keeping the architecture clean and cohesive.

Outcome.

Today, Reverie Urban Villa stands as a quiet retreat in the city a home that feels breathable, grounded, and intentionally crafted for modern urban life.
